*Those in green I got at my local library’s booksale, all for $20 (which included a couple of DVDs, too)–a great deal!!
- American Gods and Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (both in one Barnes & Noble leatherbound)
- Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.–Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson (three guesses why I picked this one *cough*AudreyHepburn*cough*)
- the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (all in one)
- The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde (I have The Eyre Affair, but haven’t read it. Pretty sure I’ll like it and read the series)
- Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin (sometimes I like the chick-lit)
- Shadow Tag by Louise Erdrich (meant to read this last year)
- Beloved by Toni Morrison (started it once, but didn’t really get into it; think I’ll try again)
- The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan (had on TBR list for awhile)
- The Blind Side by Michael Lewis (yeah, a hyped up biography recently made into a movie, but I like to see what happened that didn’t make the movie)
- Jarhead by Anthony Swofford (see above comment–and I thought my husband might like this)
- The Messenger of Athens by Ann Zouroudi (honestly only bought this for its cover)
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon (this was very popular when I was in high school, about 6-7 years ago, and I never ended up reading it)
- The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant (I like a nice story about art set a long time ago)
- Europe’s Last Summer–Who Started the Great War in 1914? by David Fromkin (I’m very interested in WWI, as a licensed social studies teacher)
- Out of Many: A History of the American People Volume I by Faragher, Buhle, Czitrom and Armitage (I studied from the Volume II from these editors while in university and really liked it)
- Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong by James W. Loewen (I read a similar book, That’s Not in My American History Textbook, and really enjoyed it. Seeing if this has more to offer!)
